A newborn baby is born with around twenty teeth under their gum line. Its first tooth typically appear with the age range of 6 months to a year, and before you know, your chirpy little baby becomes all fussy followed by a lot of drooling.
The time when a baby starts teething can be quite difficult and challenging for parents. However, we have a few tips to get you through this tough time smoothly.
Massage the Gums
Applying gentle pressure to a baby's gums can ease their pain. You can lay your baby on their back and thoroughly massage its gums using your finger. Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly before putting your fingers in your baby's mouth.
Get a Cold Cloth
You can find a clean Cloth and soak it in water for a while before wringing out the water from the cloth until its damp. Then store the cloth in your refrigerator, letting it cool down. Once the cloth is nice and cool, you should give it to your baby to chew. However, you need to ensure to be around your baby during this process.
You can sooth your baby's teething gums by placing a pacifier in the fridge or freezer to cool it down. You need to ensure that the pacifier is extremely clean before you place it in the refrigerator. The coolness of a pacifier or any other teething toy will numb your baby's gums and offer pain relief.
Freeze Milk Popsicles
Most babies avoid eat during their teething phase. This is mainly due to the discomfort they feel. You can try searching for popsicle trays and filling them with breastmilk or formula to feed your infant.
